February & March 2015 Classes at A Sewing Basket in Salado
Feb. 21--Stitch Building using your machine's built-in stitches 10-2;  There will an awesome trunk show of  jackets, etc. featuring stitch building.  I have never shown these jackets.
Feb. 27--Designer Collage Jacket either sweatshirt or muslin base. 10-5
Feb. 28--Raggy Jacket Class  10-4
March 14--Raggy Jacket Finishing Class OPTIONAL  10-4
March 21--A Scarf Above the Ordinary made with threads and fibers

February is about half over and time seems to just keep flying.  I have been busy sewing for our Grandson due the end of February or first part of March.  Needless to say, we are extremely excited!  My friend gave me a Grandmother Shower.  It was wonderful hearing the stories of other Grandmothers, which is what I truly wanted to hear.  Feb 7 I went to our daughter-in-law's baby shower given by her church in Bronte.  What great people and lots of fun!

Now I have to settle down and start some new jackets featuring some great techniques.  So far the ideas are in my head just waiting to take shape on fabric.  I am anxious to share the finished pieces.

Would love to hear what you are doing and to hear suggestions about any of my classes--either what new classes to offer or to make classes better.

Wishing you all a Happy Valentine's Day,
Christine

O.K.  I just added a gallery page to my blog.  Now -  I only have to figure out how to find the gallery page.  Just love learning all this stuff.  I am about kindergarten level when it comes to some of this computer technology.  Please bear with me or if you understand it, I'm willing to learn.  ;-)

How is your New Year going so far?

December 30, 2014

Added the Technique of the Month Class for March 21, 2015--A Scarf Above the Ordinary. This is an awesome class! Students will create samples, due to time constraints, using various threads and fibers. These samples can be used as insertions in art quilts, clothing, bags, and more. the class is from 10-2 at
A Sewing Basket in Salado. 254-947-5423

I am so excited about this coming year!! Not only will I be a Grandmother, but my creative juices are flowing so fast I can hardly keep up with all the techniques, jackets, and art quilts I want to create. Ideas are pinging around inside my head ready to erupt outside into the world. That may be a slight exageration. :-) haha Have many projects I want to sew for our Grandson. Whew!!

What do you all have planned for the new year--sewing or quilting wise?

Thank you to AAQG

I want to thank the Austin Area Quilt Guild for the warm welcome I received in December for my Trunk Show. I enjoyed sharing my work with you all and seeing all the beautiful quilts your members shared.

This thank you posting is late because I have had some trouble signing onto my blog. Hopefully the problem is now corrected.

I'm very happy to be starting to teach again. The past year has been extremely hectic for me. We are very excited about becoming Grandparents end of Feb. or early March. Needless to say I'm making a lot of items for our expected grandson. Any of you interested in baby projects to save a bit of money? Let me know.

If you haven't been in A Sewing Basket for a while, you are in for a treat! Deb has bought the shop and it has a new look and wonderful fabrics. Stop in and say hello to the ladies.

April 25, 2013

Enjoyed teaching the Landscape Quilt class at Poppy Quilt N Sew, Georgetown, TX last Saturday. The ladies were fantastic. It was fun working with them.
If you haven't checked out Poppy Quilt N Sew lately, please do. They have some great fabric. Also, the quilt shop in my town, A Sewing Basket, is coming right along under new management of Barbara Pipes. Stop in and say hi. Please shop at your local quilt stores. It is the only way we can keep them, and where else can we get the one-on-one quilting advice.

My sewing has taken a back seat lately to family matters. Also our precious Yorkie, Tigger, has some health issues we are dealing with. Hopefully, I will be able to start offering more classes soon and actually starting new projects soon. It is tough when life interrupts our sewing. ;-) But we just deal with it all and continue on. I have discovered that I love Northcott's Stonehenge fabrics. Hope to use them in several projects soon. Happy sewing to all of you!
