I'm Back

Can hardly believe January was the last time I posted anything. Time truly moves way too fast. Since January I have taught some classes and learned some new techniques, which I am anxious to share. I also joined an Art Quilt group with some very talented ladies. Believe it or not, I actually created an art quilt; hopefully, with more to come.

There is a great new product out there--Gel Printing Plates for Gelatin Mono-Printing. So much fun. The pictures below are my first attempt using a gelatin plate made from Knox Gelatin. My Gel Printing Plate has been ordered and am anxiously waiting for it to arrive so I can try out the multitude of ideas that are forming.

The first two are printed over home dec fabric. The rest are printed on muslin.

Check out TanglePatterns.com for some amazing designs. This site should interest quilters as well as wearable artists.

Can't believe the end of January is so near! I have all ready taught two classes, The Raggy Jacket and a Sewing & Quilting Techniques Class. I have the greatest students. I want to thank Sew Much More in Austin, TX and A Sewing Basket in Salado, TX for allowing me to teach in their stores. Both stores are staffed with well-informed people.

In February I will be back at these two stores. Feb. 2 & 9 will be the Raggy Jacket Class at A Sewing Basket in Salado. For information Call 254-947-5423.
February 5 will be a finishing class for the Raggy Jacket at Sew Much More in Austin, TX Please call 512-452-3166 for more information.

I am in the process of developing some new classes. I trust this is a year of Happy Sewing and finishing all those UFOs hanging around. Looking at all the new fabric coming into the stores along with some great products really gets the creative juices flowing. Be sure to keep a look out for my upcoming classes.

I am still finding different ways to use a relatively new product from Superior Threads called Texture Magic. I see so many possibilities. In conjunction with my experimentation with Texture Magic, I am finding many more ways to use Shiva PaintStiks, Angelina Fibers and stitch building. There are so many products to "play" with and so little time.

At the present time I am finishing projects that have been left hanging for some reason or other. Watch out world!! Just a couple more projects to go and then I am allowing myself the luxury of once again delving into my creative side--full steam ahead or whatever they say. I'll post pictures of completed projects as they are fully developed from my mind into something more substantial.

Trust you all are allowing your creative side to breathe. Just watching my garden and all that God has created blows me away. What artist could possibly combine colors, textures, etc to match anything God has created for our senses.

Also a big thank you to all the wonderful people that share their talent so freely--that includes all my students.

Until next time--Christine : )
