Some friends have told me I should share a picture of my "fabric shopping buddy". So--I would like to introduce everyone to Tigger, my Yorkie "shopping buddy". He has his own fan club. At home I am recognized more as "Tigger's Mom" than Christine or Chris. He is our joy. Tigger loves to ride and visit the fabric shops with me.

Jan, one of my students, recorded her and her husband's travels across the U.S. on her Stitch-A-Story collage jacket. Yes, that is an actual picture of their RV pulling their car on the highway. She did an excellent job!!!

This is a close view of one sleeve the back of Jan's jacket. What a wonderful way to record memories! I know this will inspire many people to create their own Story jacket.

New Links Added

Just added the Threads Magazine website link. Check it out. Be sure to click on "Tips and Tricks" at the top. You will be glad to see all this info. I know it made my day. So, whenever you have some time to spare, I know, I know, that sounded too funny--go to this site and let your mind absorb some great information.

There are also some great sites listed that have unique patterns you might want to tell your fabric shops about or order yourself. Hey, the shops can only carry so much inventory. Might as well fill their stores with fabric for us to drool over. If it is notions you want, Sew Much More carries quite a bit. Silk Road is the closest thing in our area to "Button Heaven". Their long counter cases are filled with fun and unique buttons you don't see in this area. Silk Road also has to "die for" linen and silk plus other fabrics and fabric dyes.

You know late at night when everyone goes to bed and you have the house to yourself, quiet at last. Or it can be early in the morning before everyone gets up. Get your favorite beverage, pen and paper and let your fingers visit My Store Links. Not everyday you get to visit stores past their closing hour or before they open their doors. This way no one can see you drool during your "Dream Time". HaHa

Have fun, Christine

Hello, everyone,

A little disclaimer about the link sites I have listed. They are there for the benefit of my sewing blog readers; and in no way am I being paid for advertising. I will not list any link that I personally do not believe in or have not visited. I realize there are many more wonderful sites out there. These are ones I have or have had personal experience. Okay, enough on this topic. Time for some "eye candy".

More pictures of my work followed by pictures of my students' work. Click on pictures to enlarge.

This wall hanging was done for Momo-Dini Designs featuring one of their design cd's.

Class sample of Fabric Collage Wall Hanging, "The Predator". Picture to right is a close-up view of the trees.

This is the back of my Oriental Designer's Collection vest.

Following is little preview of some of my student's work. You have to agree, they are very talented! Pictures of my students' work will be posted from time to time. Enjoy the fabric "eye candy". Click on photos to enlarge.

Marion's Stitch-A-Story Collage Jacket. The house pictured on the back of the jacket, is a picture of an actual home. ( Marion made this jacket as a gift. Now the lady has a picture of her home on her jacket. What fun!!)

Back view of Marion's Designer's Collection Beaded Vest. Wow!!

Watch for sales on Sulky Sliver and Holoshimmer threads. I highly recommend them along with Madiera, Superior, YLI, and Wonderfil metallic threads. They bring a lot of sparkle to your garments.

Speaking of threads, check out YLI's link. You can now download a small booklet, A Thread of Truth, for free. This is a very worthwhile booklet full of information on thread and sewing machine needles. This applys to thread in general--not any specific brand.

I also pick up interesting textured yarn when I see it. Never know when it will be just the touch needed to make something "pop".

As for fabric---if you see something you like buy a yard. If it really, really speaks to you buy as much as you can afford; at least three yards. Fantastic architectural and landscape fabrics aren't always easy to find; so when you see some you like, don't leave the store without some of it for your stash.

Fabric truly is a great thing. It isn't fattening, makes great pets, and the colors and textures can be soothing to our inner being. :-) You guessed it--I am a great fabric collector; as well as, thread, yarn, etc. HaHa

Take care out there and happy sewing, Christine :-)

You can always e-mail me or check out the stores' websites for further information. I am inviting all of you to come along with me on the sewing adventure as I write about my classes and other, hopefully, useful information.
